Together with seven universities and institutes of higher education, and the Commission for Research Partnerships with Developing Countries, td-net coordinated and co-produced the first massive open online course (MOOC) on transdisciplinary research. The course presents transdisciplinary research as a living experience. With a basis on sound theoretical and methodological background, five outstanding projects illustrate promising different ways of dealing with complex societal challenges. We are convinced, that students, researchers and practitioners from all backgrounds should have the opportunity to learn how to do research that helps to overcome societal challenges. Granting open access to this course provides a unique leverage point to increase access and extending reach equitably across the higher education landscape in globally.
Besides self-study and exchange with learners from all parts of the world, the course can be integrated in lectures, courses, and trainings. Take the opportunity, the course inscription is open now and free. The course is hosted on FutureLearn. It is mentored by the educators once a year, but remains open for access at all times. The MOOC - as a whole or in parts - can easily be integrated into seminars, courses, lectures, inverted classrooms and other formats.
The educators suggest 1-1.5 ECTS for following the course or up to 2 ECTS, if topics are explored in more depth.
