SENIORS IN MOTION – Transdisciplinary Approaches to Physical Activity Promotion for Older People
Topic
This case study is about supporting physical activity of older people in the Amberg region in the south of Germany. It introduces participants to transdisciplinary approaches in health research and to navigating the needs of different stakeholder groups. The transdisciplinary research project Capital4Health served as the basis for this case study. Matthias Bergmann provided constructive support in the development of the case study as the former leader of the project.

Methods
The main task is to collaboratively develop a project proposal in small groups. To simulate contextual dependencies, each group will be allocated a different thematic focus.
Tasks include a group building exercise, individual group working phases and a reflection exercise. The tasks are supported by literature on transdisciplinary methods and allow for creativity and freedom in designing a transdisciplinary project.
Application
This case study’s schedule is adaptable and can be applied in various teaching formats (e.g., course element; summer school).
