The Dresden Leibniz Graduate School (DLGS)--a joint interdisciplinary facility of the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development, Dresden (IOER) and Technische Universität Dresden (TUD)--invites research proposals that investigate emergent processes, novel strategies and interventions that substantially alter the ways in which future housing is being conceived, provided, designed, constructed, maintained and/or used. The proposals must focus on one of the following key topics: Sustainable housing governance and policy innovations, Business innovations and economic instruments for sustainable housing, or Sustainable housing design and construction innovations. This call is aimed at excellent graduates with a Master’s degree in any field of pertinence for spatial sustainability transformations, such as geography, urban/regional planning, urban/regional studies, environmental sciences, science and technology studies, transition studies, geoinformatics, civil engineering, architecture, economics, sociology, political science, or anthropology, among others. We invite innovative applications from outstanding candidates, originating from any country, meeting admission requirements at the TU Dresden.

Das LBG OIS Center bietet mit dem OIS zam: Forum Projekten eine Bühne, in denen Wissenschaftler:innen mit Bürger*innen, Patient*innen und vielen weiteren Akteur*innen aus der Gesellschaft zusammen forschen und arbeiten. Gemeinsam wird diskutiert, wie die Zusammenarbeit von Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft gelingen kann. Außerdem bietet das Forum Raum für Austausch, Vernetzung und Diskussion, um neue Perspektiven, Akteur*innen und Kooperationspartner*innen kennenzulernen.

Transdisciplinary research and practice is an approach that allows to bring together different perspectives from science and society and to catalyse the solution of real-world problems. In the summer school we want to transmit the basics of co-producing knowledge, co-designing solutions, and co-evaluating the results of such research practices to Master and PhD students from technologically-oriented disciplines (e.g. engineering, planning, environmental studies) as well as from other fields (e.g. social sciences). To ensure the link to the ‘real-world’, we will apply what we learn to sustainability problems in the region of Alt Empordá, Spain. The application deadline has been extended till July 14th!

Die DeGEval lädt vom 18.-20 September zu ihrer 27. Jahrestagung nach Potsdam ein. Dieses Jahr soll es um die gemeinsamen Schnittmengen und Herausforderungen zwischen transdisziplinärer Forschung und Evaluation gehen. Erwünscht sind sowohl Beitragsvorschläge mit Bezug zum Tagungsthema als auch über freie Einreichungen. The 4th international workshop on System Innovation towards Sustainable Agriculture will take place from 7th of October until 9th of October 2024 at the University of Kassel. This workshop invites researchers and practitioners to co-generate an integrative overview on contemporary issues in agri-food transitions and future avenues in research, policy making as well as in innovation and transition practice. Vom 9. bis 11. Oktober 2024 finden zum zweiten Mal die TrafoNa-Promovierendentage zum Thema "Transformation und Nachhaltigkeit" in Wuppertal statt. Dabei stehen folgende Fragen im Mittelpunkt: Wie verorte ich mich innerhalb meiner Disziplin? Wie gehe ich mit interdisziplinären Anforderungen meines Themas um? Welche Rolle spielt Transdisziplinarität für meine Forschung? Welche Berufswege in und außerhalb von Wissenschaft gibt es? Wie qualifiziere ich mich für diese? Wie positioniere ich mich zwischen Wissenschaft und Praxis, Forschung und Aktivismus?

In this workshop, hosted by the tdAcademy platform, we will explore the interplay between context conditions and transdisciplinary (TD) research formats and methods, with a focus on international perspectives. We will discuss how TD formats and methods can be selected according to the context and adapted to different cultural settings, with the aim of developing a more inclusive and effective approach to TD research. Researchers and practitioners of TD research worldwide are invited to share and reflect on their experiences. Please register until October 6.
